| 這部吉姆我是在2003年一月三十一號(仍有單據為證)在多倫多行年宵時侯買的，難怪我當時願意花CA$62.09去買下它。多年來這盒模型只作了素組而一直束之高閣，原因是在它推出之前的陸戰高達和 Ez8 我都有製作過(但沒有完成)，知道它的缺點所在但又沒有精力去修改。去年秋天模型村發起吉姆版聚，在製作 GM Custom 的時侯突然靈光一閃，發覺如果把未完成的陸戰高達部份組件用在這部陸戰吉姆身上的話，就可以在短時間內完成一個吉姆模型響應該版聚。於是乎當時我就同時製作兩部吉姆。 | A few years ago, Bandai released three similar MG models from the Gundam 08 MS Team, namely Gundam Ground Type, Gundam Ez8 and this Ground Type GM. I bought all of them a few years ago but none of them were finished at that time because they shared a tedious problem. While I was building my GM Custom one afternoon last fall, I realised that I could finish a Ground Type GM in a relatively short time because I could use some completed parts of the Ground Type Gundam, on which I did a lot of work a few years back. Thus I end up building two GMs at the same time. |

| 對我而言，這個陸戰高達系列最大的缺點是大腿和之下的關節太幼。早在2002年我已經把陸戰高達的大腿和之下關節加粗了，但因為其他部份有製作上的疑難而一直未能完成它。所以這部吉姆就借用了這對腳和其他部件而火速上馬，模型其他地方亦只改動了吉姆的下顎。 | The aforementioned problem of the three MG models is that the upper thigh and the knee joint are too small compared with the lower thigh. Unfortunately it is not trivial to fix the problem; this is why I never finish any of these models until now. As a result this Ground Type GM inherits a pair of big upper thigh. On top of that, I modified the chin of it as well. |

| 在【08 MS 小隊】一片之中，我們見到這部吉姆的狙擊形態，它用的一支光速鎗竟然拖著一大個固定的冷卻器。個人覺得這又是一個高達世界中的荒謬設定。因此在多年前我已經決定要把一套狙擊設備給這吉姆背負。而雖然在去年十一月萬代也推出了狙擊形態的陸戰吉姆，但這個冷卻器還是要放在地上；如此一來更加增添我去完成這套裝備的動力。另一方面，這盒新推出的陸戰吉姆因為把很多設定元素立物化，實在是我的製作上一個很好的參考。至於製作，從下圖可見這套裝備是用膠板撘建而成，詳情也不在此細說了。 | In the anime, the Ground Type GM with a sniper beam riffle is bounded by the cable length of the riffle because it is attached to a cooling unit on the ground. I would say this is another stupid idea in the world of Gundam because such a weapon system only has restricted usage. As a result, I always want to build a backpack, which houses a cooling system. The design of my backpack took the advantage of another MG model of the GM Ground Type that was released in last November. This new model served as an example of how my design should be. |

| 話說去年十一二月期間某夜，我在床上翻閱《Gundam Weapons 08 MS 小隊和 0080 口袋裡的戰爭編》，赫然見到渡邊 Max 製作的一個老虎紋京寶梵。於是乎我靈機一觸，狙擊用吉姆大可以有保護迷彩，而在云云迷彩之中，還有甚麼比老虎紋更加有趣。如此這般我就決定替這部吉姆塗上老虎紋。這個虎紋是在不同色調的橙色上用面相筆塗上琺瑯黑色，藉此減少產生筆痕的機會。在塗畫時我一邊參考渡邊的作例，另一邊廂留意已經繪畫好的部件，儘量把黑紋的分佈畫得大至上平均，但在細少的部件上難免自自然然繪畫得密集了一點。 | The tiger stripe camouflage was inspired by an MG Kampfer built by Max Watanabe in Gundam Weapons, "Gundam 08 MS Team & 0080 War in the Pocket" Special Edition. Enamel black was painted on the orange surface using a small fine brush. I tried to have the stripes evenly distributed everywhere but they are unfortunately quite crowded on some small parts. |
